Venice Gondola Ride

Can I assume that one must pay for a gondola ride with cash (Euros), rather than a credit card? Rick Steves guide book is good on telling me how much to pay, but not how to pay. Please advise, thanks! Karen

Yes, it's euros only. The gondoliers don't have a credit card machine ;)

I thought so, ha!! Well, there are those gizmos one attaches to an iPhone to swipe credit cards.....I thought maybe! Thanks for the prompt reply! Karen
