Venice Glass Week in September; also including Milan

If you’re planning to be in Venice in September, here’s an event you might want to check. I had planned to be there for it last year but cancelled that trip.

The Venice Glass Week will take place in Venice, Murano and Mestre from 17th – 25th September 2022

“ 2022 has been officially designated by the UN as the International Year of Glass. In this important year for the glass sector, The Venice Glass Week is uniting with Vision Milan Glass Week to present a new international festival: The Italian Glass Weeks.

The first week of the festival will take place in Milan from 10th to 18th September 2022 and will be dedicated primarily to industrial glass. The second week will take place in Venice from 17th to 25th September 2022, and will be dedicated to artistic glass.

An exciting programme of events will be staged in both cities, including exhibitions and installations, guided tours, demonstrations and workshops, as well as a series of B2B events for companies operating in the glass industry. Collectively, The Italian Glass Weeks will offer a unique opportunity for audiences including consumers, collectors, buyers and businesses to encounter, explore and appreciate the best of glass in Italy. The initiative aims to celebrate and promote the excellence of the Italian glass industry, whilst also showcasing the highest quality glass from elsewhere in the world.”

Well, that doesn't work so well with a trip due to begin in Rome on April 21. Have I mentioned how much I hate the 90-day limit? Normally I'd seriously consider reconfiguring the whole trip to start later (in a country not as hot as Italy) and end in Italy, but with COVID still out there, I'm not willing to postpone unnecessarily when things are looking pretty decent right now.

Thank Jean, I arrive in Venice from Milan via train on Sept 24. I have plans for a Sept 25 day trip from Venice that I don't want to change. But the small bits of time Saturday in Venice will give me time to check this out. I appreciate the heads up.
