Looking for ideas on where to stay in Venice with 6 people: me and my husband, 2 kids age 9 and 4.5, and grandparents, age 70. Would prefer to do an apartment or similar rather than 2 hotel rooms, but we'll take whatever recommendations we can get. Thanks
Hi Zandy!
I haven't used this website personally, but have heard good reviews from others who have.

They list accomodations for groups of 5-6 people at what I would consider very reasonable rates. Rick mentions them in his guide book. Good luck!
I don't know when you are going, but the perfect apartment can be rented to you by the owners of the Pension Guerrato. http://web.tiscalinet.it/pensioneguerrato
The apartment we stayed in was located right in the center of Venice and it had 3 bedrooms and a huge bathroom (especially for European standards). My husband would go to the market every morning and bring back food to cook for breakfast. It also had a washer and dryer.
I would recommend contacting them immediately - it is truly a jewel!
Have fun!
How ambulatory are the grandparents? Lots of places don't have elevators, so you'll need to factor in the number of flights of stairs they can walk up and down to get to where you're staying. And include the luggage factor.
They're quite ambulatory. That said, my dad wouldn't be ecstatic about a 3rd floor lodging w/o elevator.
