Venice/Florence apartment rentals

We are planning a trip to Italy and would like to find a 3 bedroom apartment for 1 week each in Venice and Florence in May 2016. Anybody have any recommendations? Would like to be on the island in Venice and in Florence centre and no more than 300 E a night.

For that location, 3 bedrooms for 300E, is high expectations. You may have to adjust you budget some. Have you tried the traditional places like VRBO, HomeAway, etc.??

I used VRBO.com to find 2 bedroom apartments for this past May in Rome, Florence, and Venice. We paid a max of 170 euros and the apartment in Florence was next door to the Medici Chapel while the Venice apartment was next to the Frari Church. You can filter results by the number of bedrooms and also locate them on a map on VRBO and HomeAway. You should be able to find something on those web sites.

How early would you recommend booking apartments on Homeaway in Venice, Florence and Rome for a trip next July? Makes me a little nervous to put money down so far in advance but I want to make sure I get nice units before they are all taken.

I have had THE BEST experience with AirBnB. We are going to Italy in a couple of weeks and my husband and I booked apartments in Florence, Rome, and Sorrento. All the hosts are so helpful and responsive. We book Venice with VRBO and have had a good experience with that as well, but I highly recommend AirBnB

I have used VeniceApartment.com in the past (and am going again in September.) Every one has been lovely and clean. The one this year is right near Rialto Bridge. I was limited on locations because we're traveling with my in-laws and required at least 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an elevator. That criteria cost us $240 night, so well within your budget. A smaller place could easily be much less.

I booked our apartments 10 months out. The good places sell out fast!

Hopefully you won't have a car during your stay in the Florence Center.
If you will have a car (not recommended or needed), you'll want to carefully discuss the parking situation with whomever you're dealing with on the rental--is overnight parking provided? Overnight parking in the Florence Center is not easy to get, and some people have rented apartments but without first figuring out parking, before they committed to the apartment rental (not good).

We booked through Views on Venice and had a fantastic experience. Not sure if they have a 3 bedroom in that price range but it's worth a look. We love staying in Dosoduro - lovely. Book as soon as you can for best selection. In Florence, look in the Oltrano area - less touristy but still close to everything.

I highly recommend Acacia Firenze. They have a lot of apartments and are very easy to deal with.

If you are worried about paying out a deposit so far in advance consider booking.com Select three rooms in the search field and click on apartments in the filter option. This will show you three bedroom apartment options.

Most accommodation on booking.com can be cancelled without cost upto around a week or two before arrival.

It is wise to book well in advance as the better options go quickly, no matter what booking provider you use.
