I have been trying to find current information on the Venice entry fee mentioned in previous posts (day-tripper fee) and when clicking on links in previous threads, I am unable to access any information. We will be in Venice mid-June and am wondering if we need to pay the fee or get an exemption bar code of some sort. I would welcome any information on this. Thank you so much!
All the info from the horse’s mouth (the official website of the City of Venice) is below:
https://cda.ve.it/en/
It applies only in certain “busy” days of June, and you don’t have to pay if you stay overnight at some accommodations, however in that case you still need to register. The way it works is the police asks you to see the admission ticket (a QR code sent to your phone) as proof you are a paying visitor. Like going to the theater or to a theme park, basically (welcome to Veniceland)
Very helpful response and explanation. Thank you!
One of our days in Venice is listed as a fee day, so went to the link provided in the response and filled out the exemption form.
Thanks again!
