I am planning my trip to Italy. First stop would be Venice. I was planning to arrive on march 31st, but I've read Venice is very expensive during Easter which is April 1st.
I'm going for my birthday which is April 5th. What do you guys suggest? I haven't booked my trip yet. I'm doing Venice, amalfi coast and Rome.

Start on AC and go north to Rome and end in Venice, later rather than earlier an option?
We were there 2016 on Easter weekend. It was more crowded than I had seen in July.
If you start in the south and end in Venice, just know that it is more inconvenient to fly to the U.S. from Venice in the morning than from Rome.
Rome is more of an Easter destination than Venice, due to the Vatican. But it is also spring break time for many, so it is crowded everywhere, with prices to match.
So you can't avoid the crowds, but you can enjoy the better weather than you would find in summer.
