Venice, Dolomites (Ortisei), Innsbruck

I have 5 days between these three places. How should I split them up?

I absolutely need to keep Venice and Dolomites; but wondering if I should skip Innsbruck. I'll be traveling north to Munich ultimately. I have never been to any of these places before.

Also, is Ortisei the right place to stay in the Dolomites? Looking for beauty, and beautiful views.

Thanks!

In spades! And when you go up on the lift, it will knock your socks off.

Innsbruck is not that big a deal. A small city in a deep valley surrounded by mountains, whereas Ortisei in IN the mountains.

I would skip Innsbruck. Better (barely) enough time in two places than insufficient time spread over three. That's my philosophy, anyway.

If you only have 5 days, stay one place. Venice and Ortisei each deserve AT LEAST 3 nights. But I have to ask, what time of year because the lifts in Ortisei do not open until mid-to-late June?

Don't mean to give a short answer but forget Innsbruck -- you simply do not have enough time to do all three. Venice and the Dolomites is really pushing it because it always takes more time to change your base of operations than one plans and that alone will probably eat up most of a full day. Unless there is a compelling desire to go to the Dolomites (and that is ok if that's what you want to do), think about only doing Venice. It is a city unlike any other and with a day trip (or two) there will be more than enough to consume five days.

Most of the lifts are still open mid-September. it should be a lovely time to be in Ortisei.

Flying to Munich from Bolzano? Is this a possibility?

Right now our trip looks like (nights staying wise)
Rome 3
Florence 4
Venice 2
Ortisei 3
Munich 3

It's less than four hours from Bolzano to Munich (Bolzano Bozen to Munich Minaco di Bavaria) on Trenitalia, city center to city center. Might be faster than flying (city center to airport to city center, plus security time).
