We will be going to Venice for two nights and want a quiet area. I heard that Dorsoduro is a good area. Also staying in a convent (Istituto Artigianelli) or hotel or B&B in that area. Any suggestions or experiences?

We have not stayed in the convent, but did stay in an apartment just behind it last September. We were very happy with the area.More neighborhood like and the Zattere is enjoyable to walk and people watch. there are several restaurants in the immediate area as well as in Campo San Stefano across the Academia bridge.
