Venice Connected tickets purchased on line

We will be going to Venice for 10 days in August through Sept. I saw that I could purchase on line tickets for transportation. If I purchase a 7 day and a 72 hour transportation ticket, do they run at the same time? I have to pick them up at the same time but dont want them to run together as that wouldnt be a good deal. I do want 10 continous days useage while there hastle free.Any help would be appreciated.

Their website says "The ticket becomes valid when the PNR for travel entitlement is converted at a Venice Connected Point."

However, I always thought the time started ticking on a vaporetto pass when you waved the card in front of the reader on your first journey, similar to how you stamp a train ticket to validate it right before you board.

I haven't used the Venice connected service yet myself because I never know seven days in advance for anything :) ever! So maybe someone else can shed more light on this topic....

This May we waited until we got off the train in Venice to get the Vaporetto pass. However you get there you can purchase them on the spot. We got two 48 hour passes for 28€ and hopped on and off as we wanted to. Time starts by swipping your cards the first time, then you dont do it again. Cosidering just one ride one way is at least 4 € it was worth it. We used it to take Rick Steves grand canal tour at 6AM to watch Venice wake up, we used it to go to the islands of Murano and Burano. The vapareto pass is only good. Venice is also lots of walking depending on where you are at. The Vaparetos are not fast as they dock at each block or so. It is a 45 minute ride from train/bus station to San Marco.

I had the same problem this April. I bought the seven day ticket on VeniceConnected(VC) and picked it up at the airport Hellovenezia desk at the airport. My GUESS is that you could buy the second one by entering a new transaction for a new starting date, but a careful reading of th terms and conditions scared me away. I wasn't going to buy if adjustments cannot be made.

VC has a "Contact us" way to reach them, but tend not to respond well. Perhaps if enough of us write them, they will deal with it. ===gm===
