Venice Connected Discount Pass

I will be traveling to Venice with my family of 5 in November. We will be staying in an apartment in the Dorsoduro area for 3 nights before moving on to Florence. While in Venice we plan to visit St. Marks, the Doge Palace (Secret IT tour), possibly visit Murano and possibly the Accademia or Correr Museums. I have about a Venice Card or Venice Connected Card that includes water travel and some discounted admissions. I have also read that Venice is a very walkable city. Given the places I've outlined above would it make sense for me to get a Venice Connected Card? Do I need one for each member of my family including the kids (ages 9, 11 & 12)? Does the card include vaporetti and traghetto?

I stayed in the Dorsoduro area of Venice and loved it. We walked everywhere without a problem. The only time you'll need to take transport anywhere is to get to Murano. I didn't use either card listed but I also didn't see the Correr Museum. Donna

I don't believe it includes traghetti. I've just looked at their FAQs on their website and there is no mention of it. Last time I looked they were only €0.40 - but may have gone up, as have most things...

Have you looked at the Venice Connected website? http://www.veniceconnected.com/visit-venice (main page) and http://www.veniceconnected.com/buy/calendar (to go straight to buying transport tickets) It guides you thru the various types of passes - be sure to look at both TRANSPORT & CULTURE tabs.
I'm about to take my 4th trip to Venice and always get one of these passes for transportation since I can go anywhere without bothering with money. But I'm usually there for 6-9 days. There is a small discount if you get the card on internet, but you can also get the card - and more personalized assistance if you get it at the Tourist desk at the airport at train station. Given this information, Venice IS very walkable, but one of the great joys is getting lost which does take up some time. Vaporettos and Traghettos are great. And cash only on Traghettos - but cheap and fun! Have a great trip!
