We are taking a Viking cruise next week leaving from Venice, or so we thought. Just learned that eventhough Viking advertises as “small ship” which can dock where large ships cannot, we will be in Fusina not Venice. I have not found any info on transportation between the two. I’m hoping someone has some knowledge of ferry or vaporetto or even land transport. We will only be in Fusina part of the day so won’t have a lot of time for travel back & forth.
Looks like there is vaporetto service

Wow, I would hope Viking Cruises would provide advice to all passengers. It behooves them to avoid unnecessary delays and angry customers arriving in Venice or Marco Polo Airport and not knowing how to get to Fusina.
You'd probably get better answers on the Cruise Critic Boards. A quick search on there shows similar questions. Here is one:

Vaporetto goes from Zattare, on the south side of the main island. Vaporettos to the rest of Venice from Zattare.
How are you arriving in Venice. If by air, you might consider taking a water taxi to Fusina.

Viking returned my call today. Fusina is not open to cruise passengers. All embarking passengers must go to the cruise terminal in Venice to check-in (document checks, sea pass, luggage, etc) and then will be bussed to Fusina (about 30 minutes). Didn’t sound like passengers would be allowed to leave Fusina by themselves to catch a taxi but if you’re thinking about this, check directly with Viking as the representative who called made it sound as though only Viking busses would be able to access the ship.

It would be wise to get a clear statement from Viking on what the procedure is and how access/transportation is handled.
