Venice Clock Tower Tickets and reservations

We are heading to Venice this summer and according to R.Steves' online Venice book update the clock tower is finally reopened. Has anyone made online reservations for a tour of the clock tower? According to Rick's book, if you purchase the museum card it would include admittance to the clock tower. After visits to Venice in 2002 and 2005, we are finally looking forward to seeing the clock tower uncovered!

Does this mean you still need to book and pay for a reserved tour even if you get the Museum cards? does anyone know how this works? The wording in the book is a little confusing. Thanks.

I find the wording very confusing also. The way I read this is that if you buy the museum card it gets you into the Doges P., clock tower, correr m. and 2 other museums for 12 euros. I don't think that this is correct as my brother and family just returned from Venice last Sunday and I was asking him about this. He said that the clock tower would have been a separate ticket. I thought maybe they didn't get the correct pass to include the clock t. but he said they got the one that included the above sights and he was told he needed a separate ticket for the c. tower. Seems kind of odd that Rick's guidebook wouldn't have gotten this figured out correctly for it to be in the book and if it has changed I have not seen any updates in the Venice book online. If that is the case, that is kind of a pricy visit to the the c. tower at 12 euros!
