Venice Celebrity Cruise Transfer

I just read our Celebrity Cruise is now departing from the cruise port in Ravenna, 2.5 hours south of Venice. Does anyone know of a transfer service or if Celebrity offers a transfer from Venice to Ravenna?

Celebrity’s news release states that transfers can be purchased either through your travel agent or contacting Celebrity directly. The Celebrity website is your friend here. Check it often prior to your cruise to keep up on all the safety protocols in place as they can change.

I appreciate it. I was wondering if anyone has done this yet and what their experience was. I am debating flying into Bologna and venturing to Venice on the cruises return.

If you want info from recent Celebrity cruisers on Med cruuses, I'd suggest going to the Celebrity forum on Cruise Critic.

You didn't say if you are an experienced cruiser, so all of this may be redundant. As the veteran of many, many cruises, I'll offer my two cents. Have you checked with your travel agent, the website, or called them yourself? The availability of information will depend on your departure date, but is generally available a few months out. I'm not sure if Celebrity will be offering a transfer from Venice, but most likely they will be, as it is a major gateway to Ravenna. If the transfers are available, keep in mind the following. It's been our experience that Celebrity transfers are easy and convenient. If you're the outgoing sort, you will meet at least a few fellow cruisers while waiting for the bus or during the ride. They will schlep as much luggage as you have, and most cruisers cannot make it an enjoyable experience if they are grossly underdressed by carrying only a rollaboard. You'll stick out like a country bumpkin. However, the downsides of taking a Celebrity transfer are 1) they are invariably more expensive than other means of getting to the port 2) they leave from the cruise hotel(s) which when booked through Celebrity are generally more expensive than if you book them yourself through the hotel website or even through booking.com. Look around if you decide to go this route. 3) They leave from the hotel and go directly to the port. It would be a shame to be in Ravenna and not have time to see the mosaics.

We've pretty experienced travelers/cruisers. I haven't checked with my travel agent as of yet, he's on his own Celebrity cruise at the moment. Our departure date is a ways away, but I like to pre plan for these types of things, and then plan for when those things go wrong.

I did some research and there is a direct bus that goes from Venice to Ravenna and there's the train option as well. I think the easiest route would possibly be the cruise line transfer, I normally don't pack a lot but my wife on the other hand needs to get all 23kg loaded into the bag.

I do appreciate everyone's insight into this.
