We are planning to pick up a rental car in Venice and then travel towards Turin. There are several pick up and drop off locations for car rental in both cities. Which Venice location is the easiest/ most hassle free? We will be staying in Venice for several days before picking up the car. Also - same question for Turin - airport of city location?

For Venice, I would choose Tronchetto. It’s the huge parking garage just before the bridge to the mainland. There are vaporetto stops there.
Another option is Piazzale Roma is another similar option, in the same general area.
Don’t rent from the airport, if you can avoid it. You would have to get over there, plus you’ll have airport fees to pay.

Pick up point select: VENICE ALL LOCATIONS
Go to the cheapest place. The most convenient is PIAZZALE ROMA. I don’t think you can pick up at Tronchetto.
Return in Turin at the locations near the train station (Porta Susa or Porta Nuova). Either one is outside the ZTL. I think Porta Susa is easier coming from the freeway from Milan.
