Venice apartment advice

8 of us are going to be traveling from Pisa (dropping our rental cars at the airport after a week near Lucca, taking a taxi to the train station) to Venice on Sunday, June 30, and staying for three nights before we head to the Geneva airport for our July 4th flight back to California. Found an apartment on FlipKey that looks good, has A/C -- a must! -- and seems to be reasonably priced at euro 750 for three nights. Here is the links:
http://www.flipkey.com/venice-vacation-rentals/p213558/?utm_source=flipkey&utm_medium=email&utm_term=propertyname&utm_campaign=rbo_inquiry_confirm and http://www.bedandbreakfastvenice.it/ Don't let the name fool you..there is no breakfast offered.:) My concern is that she wants me to email my credit card info directly to her (partial number to two different email accounts). Is this customary? How about the location? It is very close to a vaporetto stop and we will all be getting passes. Any comments/advice/other apartment suggestions would be very welcome. Thank you!

That's a great location. And it's very customary to provide CC info for a reservation. The two different email accounts is designed to make you feel more secure, but you're at at least as great a risk when you hand your credit card to a waiter, so don't sweat it.

You don't need to take a taxi to Pisa Centrale, You can get to Florence for the Express to Venice, right from Pisa airport. In fact, there is a direct train (according to the current schedule) at 1:03 pm from the airport to Florence. There are Express trains Florence to Venice every hour at half past the hour. When they finally get the schedule out, you may be able to get 19 Euro Supereconomy fares. The everyday fare from the airport to Florence is 7.80 Euro.

Thank you, Michael. I booked it...yay! That was the final lodging to figure out, and I think we're going to be really happy with all of our choices. Now we just need to deal with 6 kids and 6 different personalities!:) Sam, the train info is so helpful. I have been trying to come up with the best plan to rent our two cars...we're going from Rome to the villa near Lucca on a Sunday, and most local rental places are closed. I definitely don't want to drive in Florence, so it seems that taking a train from Rome to the Pisa airport is the best option. Do you agree? Then we can return them on the following Sunday and head to Venice. Thank you again!
