I am thinking about renting an apartment in Venice in late December 2010 through the following site: http://www.veniceapartment.com/ (which is part of italyapartment.com). Has anyone had dealt with this company who can comment on its reliabiliy?
Also, the apartment in mind is the Salviati, near the Guggenheim: https://www.veniceapartment.com/dorsoduro.htm. Any opinions?

You can find many apartments for rent at www.vrbo.com I have used this site to book in a few places.

To answer your question, that apartment looks like a lovely place in a good spot. There are restaurants and shops close by.
I have not dealt with that particular agency before, but perhaps you could find reviews on trip advisor.
We have used these folks in the past with good results.
these people also get good reviews.
