Need feedback please on help with a 2 bedroom in Venice with balcony facing a canal; any ideas?? Seems it's more difficult than we thought! For 3 nights, 5/26-29,2011.
Also, anyone ever stayed INside San Gimignano? We're thinking about Le Pinzochere; sounds like a good deal. Any thoughts here too? We want to book soon; thanks so much!!

Stayed at Hotel Cisterna right on the main square of the town- you can drive a car thru the gates and to the hotel to drop of luggage and then you will have to park outside the gates after. We stayed there for 3 nights in 2006 and made a day trip to the country side. The town is busy during the day with day trippers but in the evening the locals come out in the square at the Duomo and is a delight and relaxing time. The room we have opened up onto the valley below and was a highlight to sip wine in our room and enjoy. The restaurant at the hotel is good as well.
Google hotel cisterna. Make reservations in the fall to ensure a room. May is a good month to travel Italy - we were there again this year but did the Cinque Terre and other cities in the Tuscan region.
Book all rooms early
A few years ago we spent a couple of nights in one of Carla Rossi's in-town rooms in San Gimignano and had a delightful experience. (See Ponte a Nappo in Rick's book.)
