Venice and Lakes with Kids

My wife,kids(ages 8 & !0) and I will be traveling to Venice and the Lakes region in the end of June beginning of July and would appreciate any recommendations on kid friendly activities. Grazie!

I think to get answers that are helpful you need to be more specific as to how long you will be in each location and the type of places your wife wants to take the kids. Educational type places, museums or just fun. Also which part of the lake region?
