Venice airport (VCE) Fast Track

At the end of our upcoming trip, we have a flight out of VCE that leaves at 7:35am (Friday 19 Sept). We're connecting through London LHR to the US. From everything I've read, I should expect to be at the airport to go through security 3 hours early (4:35am) - standard for an international flight. We will only have carry-on luggage; no checked bags.

I just saw that I can purchase "Fast Track" for 18 euros per passenger to go through a dedicated security lane, which sounds faster.

Does anyone here have experience with that service and does it sound like it would be worth it for our trip? In the grand scheme of things, it's not a lot of money compared with the rest of our trip but I don't see any need to throw money away.

You’re going from Venice to Heathrow, your international flight to the US isn’t until Heathrow. So 2 hours before flight in Venice.

You will have to go through Schengen passport control.

Sorry, I haven't taken a lot of international flights so I'm trying to clarify if these two responses agree with each other or not. I'm on one ticket with British Airways, changing flights in LHR.

The UK isn't in the Schengen Area so don't I "leave" the Schengen Area when departing from Venice, requiring me to go through passport control in Venice? (And that makes it international with the suggested 3 hours?)

I think I remain airside in LHR so never actually entering the UK but I might have to also go through passport control there if they say so.

Thanks!

Venice to UK is a departure from the Schengen zone .

You WILL have to go through passport control exit procedures/processing in Venice.

I would definitely be there closer to 3 hrs ahead vs just 2 hours.

I have no knowledge of the 'fast track' program

Check to see when the Venice airport, and your check in desk, opens. My husband is notorious for getting me to airports before the airport/desks open. Perhaps ask when you land. In my experience, I haven't seen security lines very long at that hour.
Note the cost in USD, as the Dollar becomes weaker.
Perhaps in Heathrow there is still a Fastrak lane?
You will have to go thru Heathrow security in addition to Passport Control.
Have a wonderful trip!
