Venice Airport to hotel

What is the best way to get to and from the Venice airport to our hotel? We are staying at Palazzo Pianca. Do I need to make reservations in advance? Also, do I need to make reservations in advance for gondola ride or ferry to Murano?
Thanks for your help!

Have you checked your hotel's website or contacted someone at your hotel? There are likely multiple best ways to get to your hotel. Hotels often have arrangements with companies that provide transportation to their property. Vaporettos go to Murano, they are public transportation much like a bus system. I was told if I want to do a gondola ride, I can make those arrangements when I arrive to Venice

No reservation for vaporetto to Murano. Maybe you can reserve a gondola but no need to. I just saw one on the canal outside our accommodation and went on it

The most common and affordable way is to take one of the two buses from the airport - one direct and one with stops - to Piazzale Roma which is the transit hub for Venice but you can also take a taxi for some additional cost.

From Piazzale Roma take the Number 1 vaporetto probably from P.le Roma "F" to stop S. Maria del Giglio which is right by your hotel.

There is also a private water taxi from the airport but that's ~140e so most people don't do that unless money is no object. And with the narrow access to the water I don't think they could get you any closer to your hotel than the vaporetto.

There is a place to get gondolas literally on the water right outside your hotel.

Venice is amazing. Have a great trip!

Another option is the Alilaguna boat. direct from airport
I believe it’s the Blue Line that stops at Giglio dock
Your hotel is just a few steps from there- no bridges or stairs
Alilaguna is not everyone’s favorite but it would be a direct ride for you—no changes

If you are going to use vaporetto while in Venice get a length of stay pass-a real money saver
Buy it at airport

Be sure to validate each and every time you board!

For Alilaguna or private water taxi no reservations needed just follow moving walkway to the dock at airport

Great location by the way-we’ve stayed at Hotel Ala right there several times

It's actually the Linea Arancio (Orange) that stops at S. Maria del Giglio and the trip will take about 1:13 and cost you (I think) 15e which is competitive in price and probably in time with the bus+vaporetto option.

ChristineH is right that this option is worth considering. San Marco via Alilaguna is too long so I don't think of it as a viable option from the airport but because of where your'e staying it actually is.

You have options so just pick the one that sounds right for you,

I emailed my hotel. They gave me all options that were available from public to private. We ended up booked a private with the hotel.

Good choice! You’ll love the private water taxi. We paid €195 for one from airport to hotel in San Marco area. Just before sunset, beautiful evening. It was magical standing next to the driver with the wind in my hair, slight salty breeze watching Venice roll in before our eyes. Then navigating the smaller canals and dodging gondolas on to the hotel. Never felt anything like it, before or since. Enjoy!

wow! €195 airport to hotel? The established rate for up to 10 with luggage is around €125.
