Venice AFTER Easter celebrations

Greetings all! I will be traveling to Europe for the first time in 2025. I'm splitting the time between April & May. I will be in Italy & France. Venice, Liguria & Arles. I need to go mid to late April. That means I hit Europe right at Easter, April 20th.

I'm not sure whether to use Venice as my starting point after Easter or go to Arles first. Reading the Forum I've picked up on what Venice is like before & during Easter but, what is the city like after the days of celebrating? Is the city in kind of a recovery mode? Does family spring break extend into the week? Or, is it simply "back to business?" I'd appreciate any insights!

Many thanks!

My experience is that it is "business as usual" post-holidays. Unless you are there during rainy season you will find Venice to always be Venice.

I'm not sure whether to use Venice as my starting point...

Yes, do use it as a starting point. It is easy to fly into, but a bit more difficult to fly from if you have an early flight back to the U.S. It is also a great city for recovering from jet lag, as you will be out and about walking without the usual hustle and bustle of cities with cars and trucks.

Thank you for the replies! They really offer assistance. I have another topic to add. I will also be saying in the coast of the setting sun, Riviera di Ponete, closer to France. A hotel, known as Hotel Punta Est, I have my sights on.

I am concerned about hotel fees. I'm going to book directly with them, the rooms cost is very reasonable, ,$220 per night US dollars. What I'm not sure of is how much I will be paying in total when I pay up and leave the hotel. Hotel fees. What have other people paid in final when they leave hotels in Italy? Once again, I appreciate any insights

You should be given the total price for the hotel including fees when you book.

Arrived in Venice yesterday -- the day after Easter -- after being in Rome for Easter! I don't really notice it being any different than when I visited in 2015.
