Venice Accommodations

I realize this is a fairly broad request to make of all of you, but does anyone have any recommendations for decent but reasonably priced accommodations for two nights in Venice? Would prefer something priced around 175 to 200 Euros per night for double occupancy. July 2nd and 3rd. Thank you.

Have you checked in the RS 2012 Venice Guide Book yet?
It is full of accommodations in different price ranges that we are using to plan our trip to Venice in September.

check out hotel ala - it's a best western, right at a vaparetto stop (giglio), 5 minute walk to San Marco or Accademia, close to La Fenice. Best breakfast in all of Italy. I've stayed there a week each year for the past several years. That's after staying at more expensive and much less satisfying rick steves suggestions (sorry but it's true).

You could check with venere.com and tripadvisor.com for hotels, pricing, map locations, and client reviews. We always stay at Hotel Abazzia in the Canneregio section of Venice. It a former Carmelite Monastery located on a quiet calle (alley or small street). You can reach Piazza San Marco by either Vaparetto or a 20 minute walk. Buon viaggio,

I would first shoot for one of the suggestions from the Rick Steves Venice Guidebook - Pension Guerrato , a lovely place. Does have stairs, no lift. Its my favourite place in all of Venice. The price may be too low for you. I would worry that you are starting to hunt only a month before you need the room, in top high season. You may have to settle for available, not best location, affordable or best facilities at this late date.

We stayed at Pension Guerrato and found it to be a nice place in a good area. For our double room with ensuite bathroom we paid less than your budget.

Hi Don, A few years ago my hubby and I stayed at a hotel in Mirano called cinque colonne. It was a lovely boutique style hotel. The price is not too bad and the bus that takes you into the city is just right around the corner it takes 10 min to get there. here is the trip advisor link. check ot the pictures too. There is a bank and a cafe on the same street where you can buy pastries an coffee. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g608941-d2002183-Reviews-Hotel_5_Colonne-Mirano_Veneto.html
