i am off to venice in june with my fiancee we are staying at the hotel eden which i am told is in front of the casino of venice in the cannaregio region does anyone have an idea how much a private water taxi would cost from the airport there are allsorts of prices around the web
Generally 90E-100E for up to 6-7 people with luggage.
great thanks for that can you recommend places to eat/drink at relatively reasonable prices
Gary:
One place we liked that was reasonable is Nono Risorto. Check Rick Steve's Venice guide for more ideas. He is usually spot-on. Do a Pub Crawl, too. Very reasonable and fun way to eat at least once during your trip. Venice dining has been addressed many times on this site. You might benefit from searching the archives.
will do thanks for that only just signed up so will have a look around
The regular price is 100 to 105 euro. Depending on how far in advance you reserve and pay, you can get the price down to about 85 euro. If you want reduce the price but still include a water taxi, you can take the bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma. From there you would take a water taxi to the hotel. It should 3 euro per person for the bus and around 50 to 60 euro for the water taxi.
great info cant wait 2 go!
We are fond of Vini da Gigio, not too far from you off Strada Nova. http://www.vinidagigio.com/info_eng.html
what sort of prices are we talking
You seem like a traveler looking for very reasonable prices. I see a second message from you asking again for reasonable prices. Just a thought that the water taxi is a real thrill and unforgettable but, at 90E or so, it's not really that reasonable unless you have a group of 5-7 passengers. If you want reasonable, you can get to your hotel via an airport bus and vaporetto (water bus) for about 10E per person.
yeh thanks i will get a private taxi just would like to know what to expect as ive heard of people getting ripped off dont like to go somewhere without inside knowledge really
