Since you were all such a help on suggesting where to stay in Tuscany, how about Venice? I am looking for a well located, safe, budget friendly hotel, hostel, apartment, B&B or whatever it may be to stay in while my friend and I visit Venice. Thanks!
What's your price range in euros?
Locanda al Leon, about e125 per night: simple breakfast, wonderful little rooms, no other amenities, but a fine location just a few blocks behind Piazza San Marco.
If possible I would like to stay around 100 euros/nights.
I can recommend the Hotel Santa Lucia in your price range. It's very clean and bright and off in a quiet neighborhood near the train station. It's often mentioned in articles about traveling to Venice on a budget.
We stayed at the Hotel Centauro in Venice this summer for 100 euros per night. Beautiful building, really convenient location, helpful staff -- I'd stay there again. http://www.hotelcentauro.com/
We stayed at the Hotel Ateneo in San Marco district. It was about a 10 minute walk from the Vapporetto stop and about 10-15 mins from Saint Marks Square. Very quaint hotel with rooms you are describing. VERY helpul and polite staff. Would stay again.

La Calcina in the Dorsoduro.
When will you be there? That also has an impact on price.
I "second" Doug's recommendation of the Santa Lucia! We stayed there and found it very comfortable (if simple) and clean!!!
