Venice 2 1/2 days - 3 people - where to stay

I am traveling with my husband and 20 year son to Venice - we are visiting our son while he is studying in Barcelona and wanted to take a quick trip to Venice - March 2020 (arrive early on a Friday - leave late afternoon on Sunday). there are so many places to stay and there are 3 of us. I am struggling to figuring out the best places that can fit all of us without having to rent two rooms (if possible) and and easy to access (we are flying in to Marco Polo Airport) -would like relatively good proximity to sites and ease of getting to the hotel and at a reasonable cost. I know I want a lot :) I appreciate your recommendations -thank you
