I am on the website for them and I don't know how the ticket will be issued.
Don't want to get to far into the process not knowing...
Will I get it on my phone and use that when I get on the valporetto.
or do they send a pdf that I print out?
or should I wait and just try to use the kiosk at the train station to get my 3 day passes for my wife and myself.

Booking online will generate a voucher, but you cannot use it directly to board the vaporetti - you'll still need to exchange it at a ticket machine for a physical ticket.
I have never bought the Vaporetto Pass or Museum/Church Pass online. I always buy the Vaporetto Pass at the train station (S. Lucia). In the past the kiosk was inside the station. It is now at the dock. Walk out the station door, down the stairs. Just to the left is the Vaporetto kiosk. The pass is an easy to carry card.
I bought the Museum w/ Church Pass at the TI. That is just to the left of the station stairs. The first door in a line of little shops. So from the dock, turn around facing the station and it's 100ft ahead and to barely to your right. That pass was a QR print out, worked but not as handy as a card, especially for the churches.
Both were easy to buy.
