Will be in the Veneto Region of Italy around June 20-25 for 2-4 days. We will hit the biggies - Verona, Padua, Vicenza. Venice is a 'maybe', I've been several times but my husband hasn't and is convinced that it's just another big city (I know, I'm working on him). We will be traveling by car with our six month old. We will choose a home base to explore the area from. We prefer small towns and countryside to museums and galleries. I'd appreciate any suggestions on what to see or do.
Marostica and Bassano dal Grappa.
Does your husband know Venice is a small town by comparison? And no cars, so it is relatively quiet except for the sounds of boats.
True. Venice has only about 60,000 residents. And not only are there no cars, there are no Vespas, scooters, or even bicycles. The only things on wheels are the handtrucks to move goods between the canals and businesses. Maybe this slide show would help convince him: Some of my Venice pics and video 2008
