Hi, can you help me with an advice about how to go from Venecia to Ravenna? Thanks!!!
Are you going on a cruise? Your cruiseline will have bus transfers that you can buy. Otherwise take the train, which will require at least 1 transfer.
PS, it's spelled Venezia
We took a train from Bologna to Ravenna in about 40 minutes; I believe the train from Venice to Ravenna is approximately the same distance/duration. Ravenna's glorious byzantine churches became an indelible, delightful memory. The main ones are accessible by foot from the train station in a day.
Unfortunately, the trip from Ravenna to Venice (about 3 hours, if not longer) is considerably longer than the trip to Bologna (usually 71 minutes). Some departures connect in Ferrara; others, in Bologna. I'm not seeing as many Ferrara connections as I expected on trenitalia.com. I wonder whether there's some lingering effect from the recent floods.
The Ferrara connections cost only €16 if you avoid the ones with an expensive Freccia leg. The Bologna connections cost more because Bologna is considerably off the direct path from Ravenna to Venice.
Ravenna's mosaic sites are indeed glorious.
