Vatican Website Reservations(or Scam?)

Hi, I am new to traveling and we're planning a trip to Rome. Has anyone used this website? https://musei-vaticani-roma.it/en/plan-visit/

I made reservations last night thinking it was the official website for the Vatican Museum for April 2026. This morning I spoke to Rick Steve's support team member and she said the "official Vatican Museum" website https://www.museivaticani.va/content/museivaticani/en.html only allowed reservations out to December 2025.

Now I am worried this might be a scam, so I wanted to see if anyone has used this 3rd party and if it worked out ok. The website looked legit and full featured in capabilities for making reservations. Also, after the purchase they sent me e-tickets via a phone app, in addition to a PDF. Everything so far looked legit, but the availability dates don't line up with the official website. Any input would be appreciated!

Didn't you read at the bottom of the webpage
'Musei-vaticani-roma.it is not the official site of the Vatican Museums. We are an independent affiliate partner of Tiqets, an online booking platform offering flexible cancellation options and 24/7 customer service.'

They are also operating under another website https://www.vatican-museums.com/attractions/

And their parent site is ... under construction https://2be.travel/

No idea if they are a scam or not ... just can't find reviews from either of the two websites (which isn't really positive news).

I think the best you can hope for is that you've overpaid to have a 3rd party make an
official reservation/booking for you when the dates go live on the Vatican website.

I'm guessing that the e-tickets/QR code you received actually link back to the travel
agency website, and when they get your tickets for you, they will link them from the
Vatican system to their system.

You could consider doing a chargeback on the card, but technically the 3rd party
hasn't done anything wrong (yet).

Most likely you've been scammed, but not in the most damaging way(s).

What is their “flexibile cancellation” policy?

If you can cancel easily I would

Probably not a real scam but whether you will actually get what you booked is iffy

ETA
There are lots of scammy booking websites so if you are booking other venues please come back here to verify you have the official websites

Probably not a 'scam', but an unnecessary middleman which added to the cost

Can I get a refund if I can no longer visit the Vatican Museums?
Refund policies may vary depending on the agency through which the ticket was purchased. It is advisable to check the terms and conditions at the time of purchase.

You may want to look at the fine print of whatever it is you have and see if a refund is possible and then use the official site to purchase tickets.
