Vatican tours: re-entrance after tour?

I would like to know if it is possible to re-enter the Vatican Museums if we take the English-speaking tour that ends with St. Peter's. Also, can anyone comment on the Art & Faith Tour versus the standard tour? It seems all the same sites within the Vatican Museums are covered, and the price is the same. Thanks! Chris

The answer to your first question is "no". Once you leave the museums you cannot re-enter them on the same ticket. If your tour didn't include the basilica you would be able to re-enter. The Art and Faith tour is more faith oriented than the regular tour. Donna

Then why exit with the tour? Just turn around and swim upstream a bit to the areas in the museum you want to go back to.....

Thanks, both of you. And Roxanne, the issue about re-entering is that those two tours leave the Vatican Museums and end with the visit to St. Peter's, so at that point we would not be able to re-enter. Chris

Any tour that includes the basilica does not allow you to re-enter the museums. You cannot simply go back upstream. There is a way to go back to the front of the museums and re-enter without going against the current but not if you exit the museums. The regular tour (which doesn't include the basilica) allows you to go back to the front of the museums and visit the rooms not included in the tour. Donna
