Planning on touring Vatican Museum and St Peter’s Basilica and Sistine chapel on Tuesday October 1st. So many tour choices. Have heard many from this forum who recommend Pristine Sistine with Walks of Italy. Seems pricey. Is it really worth it?
Trouble is that we (generic we) all take tours but generally only one tour of a site so that it is nearly impossible to compare different tour companies who give tours of the same site. We were very pleased with Angel Tours. Of course, IMO any tour with a live guide is worth it. Live guides add an element that you do not get from a podcast or printed walking guide. Those work but a guide is so much better.
Just got back from Rome last week. Did the Complete Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica with Walks of Italy and was very pleased.
I did a tour with the Roman Guy and was pleased. Honestly, while on my tour, we were among many other tour groups (we went at 7am before everything officially opened so it was just groups) and all the groups seemed to be doing the same things and the guides sounded like they were saying the same thing - lol. I bet you'll be fine whichever you choose... and yes they are pricey
We thought Pristine Sistine worth every penny but we don’t like waiting in long lines and being crushed in crowds
Walks of Italy has a sale right now thru 5/20
Code MAYSALE20
That’s a very decent savings
And I believe they offer discounts if you book multiple tours though maybe not with May discount
In addition you can always cancel for full refund if you find a better deal between now and October
