Vatican Tours - Breakfast Options?

After a few days in Paris and Florence, we are venturing to Rome as part of a 23 day trip across Europe. While in Rome, we will go and see the normal sights - Trevi, Colosseum, Forum, etc.

We planned to go to the Vatican and see the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums. We are very interested in the breakfast tour, but those seem to be operated by outside tour companies. I looked on the forums and can't find any personal experiences...and that's what I really wanted to hear about.

Has anyone used one of these companies? Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

We really enjoyed our early morning tour of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. We used a company called LivTours (booked via Trip Advisor) and our tour guide Carlotta was fantastic. The tour was semi-private and started at 8am (did not include breakfast, by the way). We arrived about 7:15am to meet up with our guide across the street from the museum entrance. We waited in the security line and once inside the tour was quite uncrowded until you reached the Sistine Chapel. Besides the four of us in our group there were another couple of people so the attention from the guide was incredible and made it well worth the cost. After the Sistine Chapel, the tour continued in St. Peter's Basilica. It was a great experience and certainly recomended.

I just pulled up our tickets from when we did this in 2019. We booked directly through the Vatican Museum and the event is titled "Breakfast at the Museums - Early entrance to the Museums and Breakfast".

We arrived at 7:15am for a breakfast buffet (a BIG, American style breakfast!) and then entered the museum before it was open to the general public. However, we did not have a guide, it was a self guided tour. Anyway, this visit was great because we beat the crowds and we were the first people to enter the Sistine Chapel that morning.

(When I went back in 2023 with another travel companion, we did a guided tour which I found excruciating - it just dragged on and on and on. Guess it's just not my style, I'd rather move at my own pace, and consult a written guide for the things I'm interested in.)

Stella B - I see the Vatican does not offer the breakfast option any longer. I think we may just do an early morning tour and get our breakfast later.
