I will be in Rome the first week of October. My must see is the Vatican museums and gardens, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica. I have tickets for an evening audio tour of the museums and the Sistine. I have one full day dedicated to the Vatican. Any suggestions of how to organize that one day?

You can do the gardens tour earlier in the day and then visit the basilica. The basilica closes at 7, which is when the museums open for the night visits. You can book your gardens tour through the official Vatican website.
