Has anyone taken the tour of the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica that is run by The Vatican Museum? They say they take up to 30 people - which sounds like a lot, but the price is only 37 Euros a piece as opposed to 200 Euros for a private guide. There are only two of us. Thanks.

The tour given by the Vatican is very good. I've taken it several times with different friends and family. They cover the most popular rooms and give a great discussion on the artwork in the Sistine chapel. Everyone on the tour wears headsets so the guides don't need to yell to be heard. You can ask questions if you wish. I've never been on the tour when it had more than 20 people and we all had no problem seeing or hearing the guide and understand what she saying. I would save the money and just book the official tour. Donna
