We are going to be in Rome in June and are planning on going to the Vatican. We are researching all our options and are trying to decide between an early entry guided tour of the Sistine chapel, museums, and St. Peter’s or we saw that on Friday nights (we happen to be in Rome on a Friday) they have special evening hours. Has anyone done the Friday night event? Would it be worth doing or should we stick to an early entry tour?
We did this a few years ago, and escaped the crowds. A year previous We had done an early entry, and by 10:00 it was a zoo.

I recommend it.
We also did the Friday night tour. It was the only time we have been there. It was crowded but I suspect it was less crowded than usual.
