Vatican Tickets - I'm confused!!!

Hello All. I have read most of the posts on the Vatican Museum tickets and have looked at tons online, but I have yet to truly understand how to obtain tickets online. We will be in Rome November 5th - 10th, 2026. I keep reading you can only buy entry tickets 60 days in advance but when I go to the Vatican Museum site it is showing the option to purchase tickets now for our November dates. Some online articles are saying you are only "requesting" a ticket if you order before the 60 days and you will be notified if you indeed get the tickets for that date????
We don't want to do a tour and we are pondering seeing the museum in the afternoon rather than the morning. Still trying to figure out our game plan.

What site are you using to get just entry tickets and not tours?

Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

Those are the sites I am looking at. So I am assuming these articles I am reading that say no tickets available until 60 days prior to the date you want to go are not correct. I was doubting the official site was actually "official" due to there being tickets available on the dates we are looking at in November. Thanks.
Any advice on afternoon visits vs morning?

You can tell it is official by the web address (.va)

Perhaps at one time it was 60 days out but Vatican has changed its ticketing so consider those articles incorrect/out of date

As far as only “making a request” I can’t recall that ever being true for simple Vatican entry tickets
It is true for some specialty tours

Time to visit? Well it is almost always mobbed-maybe as late in the afternoon as possible to still allow enough time as you need

I bought our tickets for October in April. I bought at the official site. I think the ticketing times changed. We decided to see the museum in the afternoon, too. We booked for 5:30. I'd let you know how it goes, but by then you will have probably purchased a ticket.
