Vatican tickets

If we buy our entrance tickets only online (no guided tour)through the Vatican website, does that mean we "skip the line". Are you able to walk right in at the opening time?

More-or-less. You have to turn in your voucher, go thru security, etc., but not stand in the huge line with those who did not pre-purchase. As to your question posted elsewhere about being turned away: the Vatican is not accepting credit cards (I just reserved for someone yesterday). You reserve online and will receive an email with a voucher. You take this to "will call" and pay in cash for your tickets. Just be sure to click on the link in the confirming email they send you and to print the voucher to take along. Maybe those turned away did not complete the process. There is a point where you get a reservation number and might think that is all you need, but you MUST click on the confirming email to secure the reservation. I think you have 20 minutes to do it.

Actually, the answer is maybe. When you book entry tickets you must pick a time. IF your time is for 11:30 they won't let you in much before that. You can't turn up hours early and be let in. IF you want to get inside first thing in the morning you need to buy the 9am entry tickets. Donna
