Vatican Tickets-are they good for all day

hi
going to buy tickets for the Vatican and museum-I notice there are times to pick-is that for PICK UP ONLY? Can you use the tickets all day? We will have an audience for the pope in the morning-his Wednesday audience at 10am-should I buy the tickets at 9am and be able to use all day? thanks

The ticket for the Vatican Museums is for the entry time posted - once you are inside you can stay as long as you want, unlike some places that have a time-limit for beginning and end of your visit (like the Borghese Gallery). If you show up long after your appointment time, your ticket may not be honored. You won't be allowed in before your appointment time. There's a nice cafe in the courtyard if you need a break and a light lunch (do not have the pizza in the downstairs cafeteria).

Actually, your ticket is good for all day however, if you miss your time slot you give up the right to bypass the lines. This won't be a problem if you're going off season and in the afternoon but if you buy a 9am ticket and try to get in at 11 you'll end up waiting 2 hours in the line. I would suggest buying a ticket for noon or later if you plan on seeing the Wednesday audience. Donna
