Vatican St Peters

I was wondering if they have candles that you can light for a prayer like the catholic churches here in the U.S.have? My mom passed away today and we'll be in Rome in about eight weeks and would like to do something like that.

Bob: Our condolences on your loss. Someone who can probably reliably answer your question is Ron in Rome, contact him by clicking here. He's an American ex-pat who lives close to the Vatican. Tell him I said "hi."

Bob, they do--suggest you look to the right about the middle of St. Peter's and there is the chapel where the Blessed Sacrament is exposed. It's basically across from the where you will see John the Xxiii altar. I can't remember if there is a curtain or door to shield it from the crowds in the main church.

There are other places you can light candles in the main church also.

Hi Bob,
My deepest sympathies.

My grandmother was gravely ill while we were in Italy, so we lit candles for her everywhere, including St. Peters. We found them near the entrance.

Peace and blessings.
