Vatican/St. Peter's tour recommendations

Does anyone have a tour that they really like? We're headed to Rome in mid-July and don't really want to wait in line twice to see the Vatican and Saint Peter's.
Thanks!

Do you REALLY need to go? I'd go to the beach or the Gardens😂

But seriously, Rome is chaotic and while the Sistine chapel is wonderful, it's extremely claustrophobic with thousands of people crammed in.

If the beach isn't your thing, my suggestion is book the guided tour in English of the Borghese Gallery online. If you can't get on the tour, book a ticket anyway. No waiting, no crowds and a great gallery. Have lunch there afterwards, take a walk in the Gardens and then linger over an Aperol Spritz in Harry's Bar nearby and watch the beautiful people saunter by!😄

I'm referring the the security after viewing the Vatican Museum, you can exit through the tour groups only exit.

Regarding the beach, definitely not. That's not my jam but I appreciate the sentiment. We've been to Rome three times before so this isn't new to us, but a Tour of the Vatican/St. Peters is. We're only considering it because of the ability to skip the line after the Vatican through the door to St. Pete's.

Thanks!

When I went a few weeks ago the "tour groups only exit" was for everyone, and my guess is that it will remain that way while the crowds are so large. Whatever you do, take an early morning tour before the general public is allowed it. After the GP is in it becomes so crowded that you cannot really see anything, it is wall to wall humanity being herded to the Sistine Chapel.
