Hi,
We are going to be in Rome July 4th thru 7 th and I'm trying to decide which day to go to the Vatican Sat or Sunday ? I do know to get tickets online before going but after reading some post I'm wondering if I have been looking at the right site for the tickets ?? So now I'm asking for input, thanks Sue

The Vatican museums are closed on Sundays except the last Sunday of the month when they are free and extremely crowded. I would suggest going on Saturday. This is the official website:

They only book about 60 days out so your dates are not available yet.

Hi Sue,
We will be there as well on July 3 - 7. On Sunday, the Pope will offer a blessing (if he is in town) to those in attendance. However, if you want to visit the museums and such, you will need to go on Saturday.
