Hi everyone,
I am wondering if there is any access to the Vatican on Sundays and if there is, can anything be seen or done?
If the Pope is in residence, I believe he makes an address from the window around 10am if my memory is correct. My husband & I did attend an early Mass. There is no problem walking around and looking at the Church.
These websites will give you all you need to know:

Enjoy your trip!

The museums are open only the last Sunday of the month but the Basilica is usually open Sundays, unless there is a special event.
the Papal address on Sunday is at noon and people start entering the square an hour or so ahead. Not as structured as the Wednesday audience.
The "Vatican" never closes. The Vatican museums are closed most Sundays but the rest of the areas usually open to the public remain open on Sundays.
