We will be on a cruise and 9/23 is our day to be in Rome. Anyone ever book their own private tour of the Vatican? Was on vaticantoursonline.com (or something like that) and it looked pretty good. Anything to be aware of that I don't know about it w/ these private tours?
Is it true you can't buy vatican tickets in advance?

It is possible to avoid the queues by purchasing tickets in advance. It may be tough to get the tickets with such short notice. We used Presto Tours for our tour of the Vatican and the Colosseum. The guides (Michael and Ryan we had) were the best two guides we've ever had on a tour. You can also just purchase tickets alone without the tour. Lots of feedback and a forum on their website. www.prestotours.com.
