I'll be in Rome in late June, and there are openings for both the Pristine Sistine tour and for Friday evening admission during my stay. Of course the Friday evening option is much less expensive, but are there other considerations in choosing between the two? Will Friday evening be sufficiently un-crowded to be worth doing instead of an early-morning visit?

I"ve never found the night tours to be crowded at all. Also, you can either book a tour or do a self guided tour and go at your own pace. The only thing to keep in mind is that not all of the galleries are open for the night visits and you'll need to visit the basilica either before or on another day since it closes at 7pm.

That sounds encouraging. And since I have Scavi tour tickets for Monday, I can see the basilica after that.
