Vatican Museum - Where do I return the audio guides?

Hello - After visiting the Sistine Chapel, do I need to come back to the entrance to return the Audio guide Or is there a drop box near the Sistine Chapel exit? Do we have to keep an ID for security when collecting the audio Guide?

At the beginning near where you got them. And yes you will leave an ID and need to collect it.

I used my driver's license and, as Nigel says, you do have to go back to return the guide so you can get your ID back.

He asked this same question on the Trip advisor forum. The answer is still the same, you must go back to the front of the museums to turn in the audio guide and pick up your ID.

You mean that people go elsewhere to get an answer, not us? And then come here incase we give them the answer they want?

Donna - It’s none of your business whichever forums I may visit for a satisfactory answer. I had conflicting answers from various people on other forums.

You didn't have conflicting answers, which is what I was pointing out so you can be assured the answer is correct. The answer is the same, you must go back to the front of the museums to return the audio guide and get your ID back.
