Vatican Museum Tour - July 16th

EMERGENCY? My planning is done, except......

I've planned a four day visit to Rome. Because we have reservations for the Scavi Tour at 9:15AM on July 16th, we have tentatively scheduled a tour of the Vatican Museums that afternoon. However, The VM website indicates that visits can be scheduled only up to 11:30AM on July 16th. All other days, one can make reservations through 3:00PM.

Can anyone tell me if something is going on that afternoon? Can we book for 11:30AM and show up at 1:00PM? The VM doesn''t have an email address (that I can find).

I don't know of any events going on that day but that doesn't mean there arent any. If you book tickets for 11:30 and show up at 1 you lose the right to bypass any line. The guards can make you wait in the line with the rest of the people. You're tickets will still be good. If they aren't selling tickets after 11:30 it could mean that the tickets are sold out for after that or that they are closing the museums early that day for an event. Email them to make sure.
