Vatican Museum tickets

If I were to get a ticket for, say, 9:00 am, but wasn't able to get there until, say, 12:00, would I still be able to enter? That is, is any " reservation" good for the entire day?

Anita, it would depend on the size of the crowd waiting. During peak season, arriving late might present a problem in terms of delaying your entrance even more. By noon, the guards could be a little cranky.

The Vatican museums website states that if you are late for your reserved time the guards have the right to make you wait in the line. If you go during the summer this is a very real possibility with the lines being so long. The ticket is still good but you won't be able to just enter at any time. If you don't think you can make it before noon I would suggest buying entry tickets for noon, otherwise you may end up waiting an hour or so just to get inside. Donna

No. My family went to the Vatican in July and I called up to get the tickets before we left for Italy. thet told me you had to be there at the exact time. we made reservations to a number of places and all I can say is we moved quickly to get to our destinations. if your time is 9 then it is 9 oclock.
