We will be visiting the Vatican in June. We have tickets for an audience with the Pope for 10 am, Scavi tour at 1:30. I would like to visit the Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel after the Scavi tour (ends at 2:30). The latest time to purchase the advanced tickets is 3 pm.
Here are my questions:
1) Is it possible to make it from the Scavi tour to the Museum in 30 min?
2) Can you be late for a Vatican Museum pre-purchased timed ticket? If i purchase the 3 pm ticket?

1)yes, it's possible but it won't leave you any time to visit the basilica.
2) the last entry is at 4pm. If you are late you lose your right to bypass any line there may be which could mean not getting inside. On Papal Audience days the lines are extra long with everyone visiting the museums after the audience.
I suggest you visit the museums on another day if you can. If you go at 3pm you really only have about 2.5 hours to see the museums.
