Vatican Museum question

Has anyone recently entered the Museum early to go straight to the Sistine Chapel when it’s less crowded, and then reversed direction to see the rest of the museum? I’ve read some people saying it’s possible and others saying it’s not allowed. Any recent experiences?
Thanks, everyone is so helpful!

As I understand it, you can't go through that part in reverse. What you can do, however, is make a beeline straight for the Sistine Chapel, then follow the route towards the entry/exit and re-enter the route towards the Sistine Chapel. Then you can view those galleries at your leisure and skip the Sistine Chapel on round 2 (or sit down and see it again if you want).

Just don't go down the double helix staircase until you're ready to leave.
