Vatican museum: early vs. regular vs. night

Just wondering if anyone has done the early morning entry or the Friday night entry to the Vatican museum. I don't mind paying the extra $$, but is it really less crowded? Is it worth it? I was there earlier this year (9 am) so I know how crazy it is. I will be returning in May and just scheduled the Scavi tour. They assigned us the 9:30 time slot. I was hoping for something a little later so we could visit the museum first. I don't know if I should go through the hassle of trying to change the time. Is it crazy to think I could do the early entry and keep the 9:30 Scavi time? My main focus in the museum is the Borgia Apartments, Raphael Rooms...and the Sistine Chapel. Or.... should I go to Vatican City twice and do the Friday night entry....if it is a little less crazy.

I started doing the Friday evenings 2 years ago and have already put it on my calendar for this year. Basically, enter at 7 pm, cold supper buffet (they call it 'happy hour'), a concert and unhurried roaming around until 11 pm when the guards politely, as opposed to when the place is mobbed, invite you to exit the Sistine Chapel. You still have a couple of beautiful, long hallways to walk through. Yes, there are people but the 2 times I've been there, I would not say it was at all 'crowded.'
